Vintage illustrations

From An Adventurous Journey by Mrs Alec Tweedie – despite some dated language, and very dated opinions in some places, an interesting read. That’s her in the picture with the elephant statue. I thought her watercolours were charming – shame there weren’t more of them.

I borrowed”Tight Corners of my Adventurous Life” from the Boston Athenaeum and am enjoying it. I’d like to read her book about the 1890 Oberammergau production.
